At the end of a seven-hour hike in Crabtree, NC, Liollio and I set up camp at the top of a mountain. We started a fire, ate some food, and talked about the events of the day.
Somehow, as most of our conversations go, the talk ended with absolute nonsense. As the fire crackled and the crickets chirped, we stayed up for at least 2 solid hours combining fast food restaurant names.
Here is a small sample of the list:
McDerger King
Mcjangles
Arbonald’s
Jack in the Bangles
Taco Bendy’s
Wendangles
Long Jaco King
Hardonald’s
Subendy’s
KFCangles
We met Liollio 6 years ago when our son brought him to our home in Crabtree, NC during NC State’s fall break. From the get go we thought he was GREAT. His personality was, and still is, one of a kind.
A couple of memories that come to mind:
• One morning, when Liollio was visiting our son, he came to the breakfast table wearing a t-shirt that said “Sin is In”, which surprised me.
Liollio, noticing the look on my face, immediately remembered what he was wearing and stated, “No Mrs. Angie, Sin is Out! Sin is definitely out!”
• During another visit, Liollio walked around the gravel road at our house taking pictures of the cows and scenery. He was amazed at the crazy sounds that this one bull was making, and spent so much time “Mooing” at him that he hadn’t noticed he had dropped his extra memory card on the ground. We looked everywhere but never could find the card. Weeks later one of our neighbors found the card as he was taking a walk, placed it in his camera, and realized it must have been someone from our house when he saw pictures taken from around our home, and the movie of this bull taken from our backyard.
Liollio, thanks for being a great friend and roommate to our son.
